How to be competitive within the cement market - Maximizing cement production and sales volumes

With targets that encompass strategic as well as technical objectives, Mr. Ghose believes Oman’s domestic market to be 6 million tons per annum growing at a CAGR of 6%.  With demand growing steadily driven by the development of ports and infrastructure, especially the development of the Duqm port area, the challenge remains on how to be competitive within the market with ever increasing input costs and the continued pressure from UAE and now Iranian suppliers at very low prices.

After an extensive experience working in UK, Nigeria and India, Mr. Ghose is now focused on growing Raysut into a 20 million ton capacity company within the next 5 years with a presence in Oman, Yemen, Somalia, UAE and East Africa. He will present numerous operational efficiency improvements, the Somalia expansion and projection, Yemen market outlook, Mozambique expansion as well as ways of maximizing production, sales volumes, reengineering internal processes and cost reduction processes.

Joey Ghose, CEO  of Raysut Cement has over 25 years’ experience in the cement industry across Middle East, Africa, India, China and Far East. The focus remains to grow Raysut to a 10 million tone company by the year 2022 simultaneously optimizing operations through daily analysis of performance vs. plan and benchmark. Driving Omanisation and being a Responsible Corporate Citizen at Raysut are major focus areas.
